What is Name Change & Gazette?
A change of name becomes legally recognised in three steps: a sworn affidavit declaring your old and new name, a public notice in a newspaper, and publication in the Gazette of India by the Department of Publication under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The published notification is the record banks, passport offices and other authorities accept when you update your documents.
